Ashoro, HokkaidoAshoro (足寄町; -chou) is a town located in Ashoro District, Tokachi, Hokkaido, Japan. As of 2004, the town has an estimated population of 8,356 and a density of 5.93 persons per km². The total area is 1,408.09 km². It was the local government with the largest territory in Japan until the merger of Takayama city, Gifu prefecture in January 2005.
