AryaArya is a group of islands located in the outer part of the Langesund fjord in Norway. The islands, often referred to as Store Ary, Lille Ary and Vesle Ary, are situated approximately midway between the town of Langesund and Helgeroa in the county of Larvik. Arya is a typical cottage area for the population in the Grenland area. There are still a few families residing on the islands, where fishing is the prime source of income. In the summer season a local ferry (Skjly)connects Helgeroa with Langesund. The ferry has several stops on the islands. The trip is also frequently used by tourists going roundtrip for a great view of the area. Bikers also use the ferry as a short cut connection to the southern shores of Norway.
