Anshan (; lit. 'saddle mountain') is a city in China in Liaoning province close to Shenyang. It has a population of approximately 3.4 million.

Economy

Anshan is famous for its iron and steel complex, which is the largest in China. It was called "The Capital of Steel" in China.

Miscellaneous

Anshan was the birthplace of Ann Hui (born 1947), a Hong Kong-based film director, one of the most critically acclaimed amongst the Hong Kong New Wave.
