Anneka Rice

Anneka Rice is a former British television presenter. Rice's first major TV job was as the jump-suited, constantly breathless skyrunner in Treasure Hunt, she then went on to appear in her own programme Challenge Anneka, a not too dissimilar concept, which ran for 5 years. Though a popular TV personality, she did not win universal appeal; during the first Gulf War, a British poll revealed her to be the second least popular living person, beaten only by Saddam Hussein. In the mid-1990s, Rice decided to quit TV to spend time with her husband and two children. She returned to TV in a producer role in 2001 when she was approached by ABC in the US to produce a new series based on Challenge Anneka, which she held the rights to, to be called Challenge America.
