Anna VissiAnna Vissi (born December 20, 1957) is a popular Greek Cypriot singer and entertainer. Early life Anna's parents saw her passion for the performing arts — drama, singing, songwriting, and dancing—at the early age of six. She attended the Cyprus Conservatory, and her parents took her to local pageants when she was older. She won a first prize for "Best Voice" when she was 12 years old at a local contest in Cyprus. A few years later, her family relocated to Greece with hopes of the Greek community to cater to Vissi's aspirations. Career Anna's career started when she arrived in Athens, Greece. She quickly signed on to the Minos record label and began working with composers Haris Alexiou and Nikos Karvelas (whom she later married). She represented Greece in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Autostop", which finished 13th. She fared considerably better at the contest in 1982 when she switched to representing her native Cyprus with the Song "Mono I Agapi", which came fifth. She has released a total of 27 recordings — 4 of them CD singles. Anna Vissi performed in the 2004 Summer Olympics closing ceremony. Discography - Kitrino Galazio (1979)
