Member of Parliament

Dewsbury
. She was
Leader of the House of Commons
from
1997
to
1998
, then became
Chief Whip
until
2001
when she was sacked from the government. Since 2001 she has been Chairman of the
Intelligence and Security Committee
. Taylor has announced that she will not be contesting the next general election. The
Constituency Labour Party
has selected
Shahid Malik
to be their candidate.
