Andreas Ivanschitz

Andreas Ivanschitz (born October 18, 1983 in Eisenstadt, Austria) is an Austrian football player who plays for SK Rapid Wien and also for the Austria national football team, where he is also the captain despite being barely over 20 years. His shirt number is 8 in Rapid Wien and 10 in the national team and his position is in the midfield. Ivanschitz is also known as the "Austrian Beckham" despite favoring his left foot, not being a first choice free kick taker and playing in the center rather than out wide. Still the name stuck because of his exposure to the local media and popularity with the fans. Andreas Ivanschitz comes from a musical family and plays various musical instruments in his spare time.
