Amy Sedaris

Amy Sedaris (born March 29, 1961 in New York City) is an American actress and comedian. A former member of Chicago-based Second City and Annoyance Theatre comedy troupes, she is best known for her role as "Jerri Blank" in the television series Strangers with Candy. She has also appeared in Elf, The School of Rock, and Maid in Manhattan. As of 2004 she was the host of the series Film Fanatic on Trio. She is soon to star in the film adaptation of Strangers with Candy as Jerri Blank, and in the film version of Bewitched as nosy neighbor Gladys Kravitz. Sedaris coauthored the text-and-picture novel Wigfield with Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert. The book was published in 2003. Amy Sedaris lives with her imaginary boyfriend, Ricky, in Greenwich Village. Her brother is author David Sedaris.
