Amphoe Bang Phli

Amphoe Bang Phli is a district of Samut Prakan province in Thailand. The new international airport of Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport, is under construction in Amphoe Bang Phli. Bang Phli is famous for the annual Lotus Flower (Rap Bua) festival, which takes place on last day of the Buddhist Lent on the fourteenth day of the waxing moon in the eleventh lunar month, usually the full moon in October. A boat carrying a replica of the Luang Poh To Buddha statue from the temple Wat Bang Pli is moved along the main canal of the district. The people at the banks of the canal throw lotus flowers onto the boat, as donating lotus flowers to Buddha is merit-making.

Administration

The district is subdivided into 6 communes (tambon). The missing geocodes in the table are now the King Amphoe Bang Sao Thong.
