Amir Vahedi

Amir Vahedi (born in Iran) is a professional poker player. In 2003 Vahedi made the final table of the main event of the World Series of Poker and finished 6th, netting a $250,000 prize. Earlier in the series he won his first WSOP bracelet and $270,000 in a separate no limit Texas hold 'em event. Vahedi was named no limit Texas hold 'em player of the year in 2001 and was 2nd place to Men "The Master" Nguyen for Card Player's 2003 player of the year. As of 2004, Vahedi has won over $1.6 million in tournament play and he has one WSOP bracelet. Vahedi was a tutor of the actor Ben Affleck. Affleck would later go on be a student of Annie Duke and win the California state poker championship. Vahedi resides in Sherman Oaks, California.
