Almach

Other names for Almach (γ1 Andromedae) are Almaach, Almak, Alamak, HR 603, and HR 12533. It is a multiple star. Alamak is a double star 650 light years away. The main star is a K3-supergiant of spectral type K3 and a brightness of +2.13 m. The companion with a brightness of +5.1 m is 9,6" part at a position angle of 63 degrees. Alamak can be separated by a small telescope and is a very interesting object for amateur astronomers.
