Alliance For Green Socialism

The Alliance for Green Socialism is a socialist grouping in Leeds in the United Kingdom. It was formed in 2003 by the merger of the Leeds Left Alliance, itself a split from the Socialist Alliance, and the Green Socialist Network, whose origins lie in the Communist Party of Great Britain. The group stood candidates in the Yorkshire and the Humber constituency in the 2004 European Election, coming last with only 0.9% of the regions vote. They have been active in the Socialist Alliance Democracy Platform and will contest the 2005 UK general election as part of the Socialist Green Unity Coalition.
