Alfreton

Alfreton is a town in Derbyshire, England. It has a population of 10,000. Alfreton's most famous former resident was Robert Watchorn He was theUS Commissioner of Immigration between 1905 and 1910. The main industry of Alfreton was coal mining, since the mines closed in the 1960s it is light industry. The MP for Alfreton is Judy Mallaber (Labour). She is the MP for Amber Valley, of which Alfreton is part.
