Alfama

Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon close to the Tejo, known for its Fado bars and restaurants. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma. The Alfama is overlooked by the castle So Jorge and was left intact by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
