Alberta General Election, 1975

The 18th general election for the Province of Alberta, Canada, was held on March 25, 1975 to elect members of the Alberta legislature. The Progressive Conservative Party of Peter Lougheed won its second term in government with over 62% of the popular vote, winning 69 of the 75 seats in the legislature. The Social Credit Party, which had dominated Alberta politics for 36 years, lost over half the share of the popular vote that it had won in the previous election. Its legislative caucus was reduced from 25 members to only four.
