Air Mobility Command

The United States Air Mobility Command is based at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. It provides airlift, special missions, aerial refueling, and medical evacuations for U.S. troops, as well as some cargo operations. It was formed in 1992 from the transport assets of the then-recently deactivated Military Airlift and Strategic Air Commands.
