Agony (Game)Agony is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up game, released by Psygnosis in 1992 for the Amiga platform. Featuring three floppies and an end of the world theme, the game ran in all Amiga computers. Our main character metamorphoses into an Owl, and fights his way through an earth breaking to pieces, being invaded by a hurd of demons. The game is considered a game of cult with a lot of following, because it's pretty well done. Music and artwork is above average, and the game makes great use of many Amiga features, which techniques like scales of colors done with raster lines, HalfBright graphics mode, three level scrolling, good use of sprites, in-game palette swapping and continous flashing of the background colorscale. There was some noise around the title song, sampled here, which was adapted without giving the proper credit by the metal group Dimmu Borgir in the song Sorgens Kammer from their Stormblst album. Cheats Type fantasy at the title screen in order to enable cheats and disable low-pass audio filter. (most Amiga games, including this one, sound better without it) Then, while playing, you can press the following keys: - F1: Lower sword
- F2: Upper sword
- F3: Weapon power-up
- F4: Extra life
- Enter: Level skip
