Aethelric Of Deira

Aethelric (d. 604?) was a King of Deira (c. 589 - 604). He was the son of Aella of Deira and the brother of Edwin. Deira was invaded by Aethelfrith of Bernicia in about the year 604. Aethelric was defeated and probably killed, and thereafter Aethelfrith ruled Deira and Bernicia together as Northumbria.
