Aero (Chocolate)

The Aero chocolate bar consists of a chocolate bar filled with bubbles of air. It was originally introduced in the North of England in 1935 by the Rowntree Mackintosh chocolate company, one of the first products in a new marketing-led sales initiative introduced by the company during the 1930s. Distribution was increased to the rest of the UK during the following months. It also comes in Aero Mint form. This bar consists of a green bubbly mint-flavoured filling covered in chocolate. The bar is also sold in Canada and Australia under the Aero name, and in the Netherlands by Nestl (which acquired Rowntree Mackintosh in 1988) as Bros. The Aero bar was made available for a short time in the United States by Nestle during the 1980s, though it seems not to have been a commercial success. It is available in the British version in some parts of the US as an import.
