Jīnzhōng, lit. "Golden Bell") is an area of
Hong Kong
located at the eastern end of
Central and Western district
, and bordered by
Wanchai district
to the east and by
Victoria harbour
to the north. It is so-called because it was formerly the location of the
HMS
Tamar
naval base (which in fact had never actually been the
Admiralty
). It is considered part of
Central
.
Admiralty (MTR)
metro station
was built on the former site of Hong Kong
dockyards
, which had been built in
1878
, and demolished in the
1970s
. The
Pacific Place
shopping mall
is located in Admiralty.
