Addison, IllinoisAddison is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 35,914. A 2003 recount gave the community a population of 36,378. Geography Addison is located at 41°55'54" North, 88°0'8" West (41.931573, -88.002221). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 24.6 km² (9.5 mi²). 24.4 km² (9.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.53% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 35,914 people, 11,649 households, and 9,097 families residing in the village. The population density is 1,470.5/km² (3,807.6/mi²). There are 11,805 housing units at an average density of 483.3/km² (1,251.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 75.39% White, 2.51% African American, 0.35% Native American, 7.94% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 11.39% from other races, and 2.40% from two or more races. 28.40% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 11,649 households out of which 38.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.7% are married couples living together, 10.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% are non-families. 16.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.07 and the average family size is 3.46. In the village the population is spread out with 26.2% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 32.0% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 103.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 102.8 males. The median income for a household in the village is $54,090, and the median income for a family is $59,007. Males have a median income of $39,718 versus $27,815 for females. The per capita income for the village is $21,201. 9.6% of the population and 7.2% of families are below the poverty line.
