Prince Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski (1734-1823) was a Polish noble, writer, politician, literary and theatre critic, statesman. Son of Prince August Aleksander Czartoryski, voivode of Ruthenian Voivodship and Maria Zofia Sieniawska. He married Izabela Fleming on November 18, 1761 in Wołczyn, Poland. Member of the "Familia". Offered the Polish crown in 1763, he refused it, becoming instead a patron of the arts. One of the leaders of the Patriotic Party. Together with his wife he created an intellectual and political meeting place in the Czartoryski Palace at Pulawy. Co-founder of Poland's Commission for National Education. General starost of Podolia since 1758. Founder of the so called "Little Monitor" and in 1765 he co-founded a cultural newspaper, the "Monitor". In 1768 commander of the Knight School (Cadet corps). Since 1788 Deputy of Lublin for the Four-Year Sejm. He refused to joint the Targowica Confederation and was a supporter of the May 3rd Constitution. He was Marshal of the Convocation Sejm in May 7 - June 23, 1764 and of the Sejm (extraordinary) on June 26 - June 28, 1812 in Warsaw.
