Ackworth, West Yorkshire

Ackworth, West Yorkshire, is one of the largest villages in England, situated between Pontefract, Barnsley and Doncaster on the small River Went. It comprises of four regions - High Ackworth (leads to Featherstone or Pontefract), Low Ackworth (with access to both Pontefract and East Hardwick), Brackenhill (which leads to Wakefield) and Ackworth Moortop (the largest of the regions with roads to Hemsworth aswell as the other regions of Ackworth). It is home to one of the oldest schools in Britain - Ackworth School.
