A21 Road

The A21 is a major road in England running from Lewisham in southeast London to Hastings, East Sussex. From Lewisham, it runs south east through Bromley and bypasses Orpington. Entering Kent near its junction with the M25 motorway, the road becomes a dual carriageway and continues past Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. South of Tonbridge, it becomes a single carriageway for two miles until the three-mile long Pembury bypass near Tunbridge Wells. From the southern end of the Pembury bypass, the A21 is mainly single carriageway. A bypass of Lamberhurst will be opened in 2005 and the road already bypasses its original route through Robertsbridge. The road then continues southwards, passing to the east of its original route through Battle, before terminating in Hastings.
