A1 Freeway (Romania)

The A1 freeway (Autostrada A1 in Romanian) is a 96-kilometre freeway linking Bucharest, the capital of Romania, with Piteşti, a city in Argeş county, Romania.

Extension Piteşti-Timişoara-Belgrade

There are plans to extend the freeway from Piteşti to Belgrade in Serbia, via Sibiu, Deva and Timişoara, Arad and Nădlac. The Piteşti-Belgrade extension is expected to be finalised by 2009 and is part of Romania's infrastructural plan to develop a grid of freeways radiating from Bucharest.
