80 Cm Gustav

The German 80 cm gun was developed by Krupp in order to destroy large, heavily fortified targets. It was going to be used against the Maginot Line but when the Wermacht outflanked it and defeated France there was no real purpose for it anymore. The Germans used it against fortifications in Russia during Operation Barbarossa. They destroyed a few forts and then withdrew it because it had to have its barrel replaced. It was used again during the uprises in the ghettos. It was destoyed near the end of the war to avoid capture.
