8 Million Ways To Die

"8 Million Ways to Die" is a 1986 film, the last to be directed by Hal Ashby. The film was the first attempt to adapt the popular Matt Scuder detective stories of Lawrence Block for the screen and Block also wrote the screenplay with Oliver Stone. The film starred Jeff Bridges, Rosanna Arquette and Andy Garcia in a leading role for the first time. The story was switched from New York to Los Angeles that changed the tone of the book for many fans. Ashby was fired during the shooting and the studio edited the film poorly and then buried it with a limited release.
