50 Pence

This article is about the rapper. There is also an article about the British coin Fifty Pence.
50 Pence is the first of many spoofs of Queens hip hop star 50 Cent, based in Watford. He follows Fiddie's singles with spoofs replacing the songs subject with his rhymes about PUB CULTURE, such as "P.I.N.T.", and "In Da Pub". Even his album title spoofs 50 categorizing his English '"ghetto" life, with Get Rich or Claim Benefit. Whereas the original 50 Cent is a tough gangsta who in real life survived being shot nine times, his UK counterpart got his limp from falling down the stairs. He is somewhat of a saddo who drives a Vauxhall Nova rather than a Chevy and whose "girlfriend's mum" gave him the cash to buy all his "fancy things". The man behind 50 Pence is Liam Don, a UK hip hop producer. The 50 Pence songs were at one time available for download on Don's own site, but are not at present (2004). One can only imagine that this was done following "words" from 50 Cent's management at Shady Records.
