1916 Summer Olympics

The Games of the VI Olympiad were to have been held in 1916 in Berlin, Germany. At the outbreak of World War I organisation continued, as no one could foresee that war dragging on for years. Eventually, though, the games were cancelled. Alexandria and Budapest also bid for the games. A winter sports week with speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey and nordic skiing was planned.
