11 O'clock News

The 11 o'clock news is the standard term for news programs that are broadcasted at 11:00 p.m. local time. This is the traditional hour for the late local news broadcast on television network affiliate stations in the United States; non-affiliate stations which offer a news broadcast often do so at 10:00 p.m. Stories on the 11 o'clock news are often re-runs or followups to items covered in earlier broadcasts. The stock phrase "film at 11" comes from promos run interstitially between prime time news broadcasts, promising shots from a breaking story during the 11 o'clock news.
