1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic Acid

1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) is a disubstituted cyclic amino acid. The three-membered cycle is attached to the C(alpha)-atom. ACC plays an important role in the biosynthesis of the herbal hormone ethylene. It is synthesized by ACC synthase enzyme from methionine and converted to ethylene by ACC oxidase.
