1-1-2

The telephone number 1-1-2 (or 112) is the international emergency telephone number for GSM mobile phone networks. It does not necessarily work on other mobile phone technologies. In some countries it is also the emergency telephone number for both mobile and fixed-line telephones. It is also the standard EU emergency telephone number, which is intended to work in every country of the European Union. In countries where 1-1-2 is not the standard emergency telephone number, GSM telephone users who make calls to 1-1-2 generally have their calls redirected to the local emergency telephone number, if it exists. GSM telephone users in this situation should contact their service provider for emergency information applicable to their service.
