.ltd.uk is part of the .uk Domain Name System. It is one of the three second level domains that Nominet UK operates that has a strict Charter. In this case, registrants must be, and remain, private limited companies incorporated under the UK Companies Act 1985. Public Limited Companies must use .plc.uk. Limited liability partnerships do not qualify for either second level domain. The number of .ltd.uk registrations is low.
