Easter Island Without a doubt one of the nicest places in the world. Largely, one suspects, because its isolation and lack of beaches means that only the genuinely interested go there. Still, well worth four or five days, especially if you can fit it on a round the world ticket. The statues are fantastic, the people are lovely and there is actually one beach. Which is good as looking at statues all the time gets tiresome.
