East End

The East End of Charleston is a historic district bordered (roughly) by Broad Street to the west, California Ave to the east, Washington Steet to the north, and the Kanawha River to the south.  Homes in the area are Victorian in nature and grand in size.  There is a leisurely promenade along the river, great for a morning jog or sunset walk.  Virginia street is home to the world's longest continuous city block, and several historic and impressive churches are located in the area.

If you're looking for something a little intimate while in Charleston, try staying in one of the several B&Bs that have opened in the neighborhood in recent years.
