Maple Ridge Nestled between the Golden Ears mountains and the Fraser River, this thriving metropolis embraces both the rustic charm and urban delights, a scant 45 km (30 miles or thereabouts) east of Vancouver. In addition to its celebrated mechanical horse clock, visitors can also view genuine horses (non-mechanical in nature, and for the most part unable to tell the correct time to within twenty minutes) or stroll along the downtown streets and sample gourmet hot beverages at the numerous, some would say countless, emporiums dedicated to the preparation of same. Maple Ridge is a fun, safe destination for the whole family, and unlike many cities its size, it's supervillain free! Maple Ridge has been a nuclear and plasma-weapons free zone since 1979.
