Grand Forks

The sleepy village of Grand Forks is a favorite spot for diners eager for a grand repast as they travel the back roads of darkest Columbia. The town is known for its pub-style "trencherman" eateries serving enormous portions of Columbian delicacies such as purrogies and cowbasa served with outsized untensils in honor of the town's name. Grand Forks lies at the confluence of the Knife River and Spooner Creek, hence its title. The greater Grand Forks area is home to a wide variety of wildlife that enjoy its semi-arid climate including the dried-up slug (Ariolimax dessicus) and the Pert-breasted Nutcracker (Nucifraga deliciosa) a very rare member of the jay family. Grand Forks is truly a paradise for the overweight naturalist.
