Snowdonia For great treks head North for Snowdonia. This rugged mountain land, with the highest peaks of Wales (the Snowdon) offers great walking tracks and small rustic villages where you can halt and rest. Betws-y-Coed and Llanberris are verry pretty and a good base to explore the countryside. Form Llanberris you can go to the top of the Snowdon. Beddgelert is a charming old mining town near the Moel Hebog. Porthmadog is a harbour town on the Irish Sea. On your way to Snowdonia you will probably stop over here.
