Kendal Kendal Castle, constructed in the 12th century, is now a ruin but it is a haunting place with a superb view over the town. A unique sight at Kendal is the Quaker Tapestry. This involved voluntary work by more than 4,000 people in 15 countries and consists of 77 panels, each 25” by 21”.
