Malhamdale

Malhamdale

Malham itself is a delightful hamlet when it's allowed to be; i.e. when its not bursting at hte seams with visitors. It has no church for which would-be worshippers or sightseers have to go to nearby Kirkby Malham. There is a National Park information centre and carpark Meals can be obtained at the Buck or at a local cafe.

The principle attraction to visitors is the scenery; three sights in particular, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar featuring wonderful limestone formations and janet's Foss being an attractive though not very large waterfall. Neither Malham Cove with its precipitous front nor gordale Scar is to be recommended to parents who expect to be able to take their attention away from their children!
