Sigtuna

Sigtuna

We can’t be completely sure, of course, but Sigtuna is said to be the oldest Medieval town in Sweden. The Sigtuna Museum gives more detailed information on the age of the Vikings and the way the little town was used as a stronghold to maintain lake Mäleren. The small streets with the low built wooden houses lead up to several handicrafts shops and the old tiny city hall, Sigtuna Rådhus. Sigtuna lies north of Stockholm and makes an excellent daytrip.
