Utrecht Utrecht is probably best known for its 112 metres high steeple, the ‘Domtoren’. Although everyone believed that the tower and Minster were booked for life, the opposite turned out to be true. In 1675, a fierce storm made the nave of the Minster collapse and the two of them were separated until this very day. On the street, the original contours were marked and one can still see the original size of the Minster. Every year, many tourists climb the old stairs to absorb the dazzling view from the top. Utrecht has several other churches that try to be as impressive as the Dom. Besides that, you can visit some interesting museums. |
