Chios Chios is an island just off the coast of Turkey, close to the city of Izmir. It's a fairly big island. The capital is also called Chios. It has a few bars, a disco and a campsite just north of town, but nightlife here is not very spectacular compared to some of the other islands. The island doesn't have big tourist sites, although a visit to the Byzantine monastery of Moundon, near Diefha is worthwhile. There are ferries that take you to Izmir.
