Warnemunde

Warnemunde

The seaside resort "Warnemünde" is known to be Rostock's leisure paradise. In fact it has been part of the city since 1323. Today Warnemundeis one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea.

Most of the cosy pubs and attractive shops you will find along the "Alte Strom" (old river). The lighthouse dates back to 1898, the mole is more than 500 metres long. The wide promenade along the sandy beach is very inviting - not only in summer. The Kurhaus spa centre is built in the Bauhaus style and is now used as a casino as well.

Very crowded is Warnemunde especially in early summer: the Warnemünde Week is an international sailing competition (June) and during the attached summer festival a historic "Ümgang" (parade) takes place.
