Rudesheim

Since the beginning of the last century, Ruedesheim has been an attraction for English and German romantic writers, and is today considering the modest number of its residents - one of the most visited towns in Germany, especially in summertime. If you do not mind some overcrowded streets like the "Drosselgasse", visit the historical buildings, such as the Klunkhardshof, the fortified Adlerturm, the thousand-year old Broemser castle, the Boosenburg and the ruins of Ehrenfels castle, which are a pleasure for the eyes and senses. For those who seek tranquility, there are extensive forests nearby, such as the nature park "Rhein-Taunus".

From the vantage points of the Niederwald, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the narrow Rhine valley, the Nahe estuary, and the extensive wine landscape of the Rheingau. Concerning Rhiengau and wine: enjoy the world-famous Ruedesheimer Riesling, together with music and dancing, maybe in the Drosselgasse, numerous inns, wine bars, and places which sell home-grown wine.
