Bamberg Bamberg is one of the postcard Bavarian towns, always full of tourists, but you can't afford to miss it if you want to see the old, medieval Germany. A major sight is the cathedral. It is a mix of Romanesque and Gothic and houses a number of graceful sculptures. Bamberg also has one of the most photgraphed town halls —the Altes Rathaus sits in the middle of a bridge straddling the Regnitz River.
