Champagne

Located between Paris, Belgium, Luxembourg and Lorraine, the French region of Champagne-Ardennes is famous for its bubbly wine: the one and only real champagne. But there is of course much more to do and see than just the caves where you can taste these.

The north of the region is a hilly land with many woods, the French Ardennes. It's a perfect place to go for hiking and other outdoor activities. In the centre, the Marne department is the most densely populated area of the Champagne. The city of Reims is of course the number one tourist attraction with its famous cathedral.

Further to to south, the Aube department has a lot of lakes and small rivers where water sport enthusiasts can find anything they like. The city of Troyes is one of the best kept secrets of France. The small medieval city is a true gem.
