Burgundy

Burgundy is not just a region in France. It stands for a lifestyle: the good life! Drink a glass of wine, eat some delicious food and take your time to sit back and relax. If this kind of life is appealing to you, there is no better place to experience it than in Burgundy itself.

Dijon is the capital of Burgundy and the best place to start exploring the region. In the city you will find many monuments that date back to the period when Burgundy was one of the more powerful states in Central Europe.

Beaune is a bit further to the south and is mostly famous for its hospice. One of the oldest hospitals in Europe and built in the characteristic style of the region.

There is also a canal that crosses Burgundy (Canal de Bourgogne) from the North to the South joining the river Yonne and Saone. This allows barges and boats to cruise from the English Chanal down to the South of France.
