Denmark Around 20 km. North of Copenhagen center is the old town Birkeroed located in the typical northzealandnature ie. woods, small lakes, hilly landscape and small countrytowns. What, besides its location, is of interest is the old church from around the 12th century. Here the famous Henrik Thomeson Gerneriis (the priest Henrik Gerner) had his residence, the old vicarage, "Gl. Praestegaard" where today there is gardenfair and artgallery. He is mostly remembered caused his relationchip to Kronborg ("Hamlets castle" in Helsingoer) and the danish-swedish wars in the 16th century. Take a walk down the pedestrian mainstreet on a sunday and feel the atmosphere of the silence that can still be experienced here. Trains directly from Copenhagen directed towards Hilleroed three times hourly (around 20 minutes drive).
