Antwerp Antwerp has a sparkling nightlife. Besides numerous discos and bars with live music, it is also well known for its abundance of brown cafes. Drinking a 'Koninck' at the Groote Markt will make you feel like a King in Belgium- or at least for the time that your glass, a bolleke , is still full of Belgian beer. Most cafes open their doors around tenish. Especially at the 'Grote Markt' and the 'Handschoenmarkt', you should just sit down, relax and soak in the atmosphere.
